Motor vehicle crashes claim the lives of more than 12 children each week. To best protect your child, choose a safety seat that fits your vehicle, fits your child, and that you will use correctly every time. Not sure how to ensure the seat is correct? Always read the vehicle owner’s manual and the car seat instructions for correct installation information. Need an extra set of eyes and hands to double check? Stop by the Washington County Connections office or call to schedule an appointment and we will be more than happy to assist you. We take child passenger safety seriously.
We often work closely with our local daycares and school to provide seat checks for parents who are concerned with proper use. Most of the time we teamed up with our local State Patrol Troopers to offer seat checks which double as child education on who our trusted adults can be!
Always remember to register your car seat and booster seat with the car seat manufacturer so you can be notified in the event of a recall. Parents and caregivers can view more information on car seat safety and locate a certified child passenger safety technician at www.nhtsa.gov/carseat
